Who can stay at Shortstay Housing Wageningen?
Our accommodation is intended for short academic stays connected to Wageningen University & Research.
This typically includes international students, PhD candidates and interns.
Is this accommodation suitable for tourists or business travel?
No. This accommodation is specifically intended for academic stays and is not aimed at tourism or business travel.
I am a PhD candidate – am I eligible?
Yes. If you are coming to Wageningen University & Research for an academic stay, you are welcome to contact us.
If your accommodation costs are reimbursed by an employer, university or funding body, different rates apply. Please contact us for more information.
Stay and availability
What is the minimum and maximum length of stay?
Stays typically range from one week up to three months, depending on availability and location.
Can I stay longer than three months?
Shortstay Housing Wageningen is primarily intended for short and mid-term stays of up to three months.
In some cases, a longer stay can be discussed individually. Please note that longer stays may involve additional administrative considerations, such as municipal registration, which is not possible at our locations. If you are considering a longer stay, please contact us to discuss the options.
Do you show real-time availability online?
No. Availability is confirmed personally.

How quickly do you respond to inquiries?
We usually reply within 24 hours.
Prices and payment
Who do the listed prices apply to?
The listed prices apply to guests who pay their accommodation costs privately and do not require an invoice for reimbursement.
I need an invoice for reimbursement – what should I do?
If your accommodation costs are reimbursed by an employer, university or funding body and you require an invoice, different rates apply. Please contact us for more information.
What is included in the price?
All prices include utilities, fast internet, cleaning, use of laundry facilities and shared kitchenette and bathroom facilities.
Are there hidden costs?
No. We work with clear, all-inclusive pricing.
Location and facilities
Are the rooms located in Wageningen?
Our main accommodation is located in Ede, Wageningen’s neighbouring town. Depending on availability, we sometimes also have rooms in Wageningen.
Is Ede close to Wageningen University?
Yes. Ede and Wageningen share the same train station and campus area.
The WUR campus can easily be reached by bike or public transport.
Are the rooms furnished?
Yes. All rooms are fully furnished and ready to move in.
Practical questions
Can I register at the municipality?
Registration at the municipality is not possible at our short stay accommodations, as they operate in the touristic short stay sector.
Many international students and PhD candidates experience an in-between period before moving to permanent housing. During this period, Wageningen University & Research and the Expat Center / International Office can often provide a temporary registration address that can be used while staying in short stay or other temporary accommodation.
For information about temporary registration options, we advise you to contact Wageningen University & Research or the Expat Center directly, as arrangements may differ per situation.
Can I move out earlier if I find permanent housing?
Yes. We work with flexible conditions and a one-month notice period.
Is this a rental agency?
No. Shortstay Housing Wageningen operates in the touristic short stay sector and is not a rental agency.
